Plan a timeline. You need to allow about two days to demolish the old bathroom and two days each for carpentry, plumbing, flooring and drywall. Tiling takes the longest usually, about three days, and elements such as cabinets, fixtures, insulation, drywall and electrical work usually don't take greater than a day.
Thoroughly examine your bathroom space and the rooms next to the bathroom. Take accurate measurements of the bathroom and adjoining rooms. Transpose those measurements to size on the graph newspaper. Look for any closets posting a common wall structure with your bathrooms. Be sure to are the measurements of those closets. Check your pulling to determine if the closet can be removed by you and add that space to your bathrooms. Does it square‐off your bathrooms? Will you miss the closet space?
